Get Involved
Port Chalmers and its harbour is the “Cradle of Otago”. Many Otago’s residents today are descended from our Early Settlers, arriving on one of the many sailing ships docking at Port. Many stories have been told; many stories yet have to be told. Here at Port Chalmers Museum, those stories have found their home, to be explored by all who visit.
There are many ways of how you can support keeping the Museum alive.
Donate Funds
Port Chalmers Maritime Museum is run by volunteers, and relies on entry donations, grants from the Dunedin City Council and Port Otago Ltd, general donations and small profits from shop sales.
