Public Viewing Gallery

Take the stairs or use the lift in the new Port Otago annex and visit the Public Viewing Gallery on the first level. On the way admire an original artwork by Ralph Hotere, Port Chalmers’ most celebrated artist. The Viewing Gallery allows visitors a view of the daily operations, from containerships to cruise ships and logging operations. This is the closest you will ever get to a working port.
