The late Harold Woods had a long association with Port Chalmers and Port Otago. He was a lively, well-liked character and we were lucky enough to spend time with Harold, recording these stories of his life and work.

Garry Bain

Ship spotter, teacher, friend

Garry Bain is known to nearly everyone in Port Chalmers, having taught at Port Chalmers School for 40 years. But he’s equally well known for his ship spotting obsession, boating programme for local school children and his good nature.
